When Maime Caldwell loses her voice on her fourth birthday, silence becomes her shield—and her burden. Unable to speak, but gifted with sharp observation, she grows into the reluctant historian of Whitney, a town steeped in secrets, cruelty, and something far darker than superstition. As Maime records her childhood in journals, she uncovers disturbing truths: sadistic relatives, townspeople who hide monstrous impulses, and ancient forces that watch, wait, and bargain.

Raised in Akron, Ohio, Aimee Cooper attended Kenmore High School and The University of Akron, participating in the STEP and Upward Bound programs. As an only child, she was forced to find outlets to entertain herself. Aimee has always been hyper-creative—playing in multiple sandboxes at the same time.
When she’s not writing, she enjoys drawing, painting, photography, entomology and she is a self-proclaimed yarnologist.
While her current offerings fall into the genre of Young Adult, Aimee captivates readers of all ages with characters they can relate to. She creates unlikely heroes in her stories that conquer fear and overcome incredible odds. Aimee’s driving force is to share stories that inspire and empower her audience through life’s most difficult challenges. Her creative storytelling has culminated into a collection of spooky tales of terrifying adventure in her Maime’s Tales series.
